3dmax: rendering
We were thought how to use 3D max to render the materials onto the 3D structure that we did on Revit.
Exterior Rendering:
Import 3D object from previous Revit project 1.
Create and assign materials to surfaces. To make materials visible we had to change the view to view material with maps.
I created all materials so that when I apply materials to surface it would be faster. Each Material has to be assigned in different slots.
After applying materials, the materials might not look right. To fix this we had to got to modifier list and select uvw maps. tick the box option and scale the size of the material on the surface.
Modify teh reflectivity and glossiness of the surface to suit the materials.
When all materials needed is created assign the material.
With multiple surfaces that uses the same material, we could just select by name which allows multiple selection at once and apply materials to selected surfaces.
I tried to add the topgraphy base using create in 3D max.
When assigned the material to the base. The material looked too fake. So i just removed the material but kept the base so i can tell where the shadow is.
When I am done and finsh rendering I save as a PNG and JPEG file. Then I imported the PNG to edit on photoshop.
interior Rendering:
Add a camera in the interior and go to view.
Create material needed for the furniture, walls ceiling, cabinets and counter tops.
I created another camera so that I could assign materials easier on the other side.
Assign material to to the surfaces using the same method to select multiple surfaces.
Final render the interior and save as JPEG and PNG file.
